THE ROLE

DALS Lighting is currently offering an excellent career opportunity for an Assistant Controller, mainly focusing on Payables & support to controller. The successful candidate will work directly with the Accounting & Administration Team and will report directly to the Controller.  The candidate must be an energetic individual who has a passion for numbers, business excellence and shares our values. Understanding and aligning with our company culture is very important for us.

CANDIDATE’S MAIN FUNCTIONS WILL BE:

  • Responsible for accounting management related to imports; processing payment requests, supplier reconciliation & customs duty drawback reimbursement management
  • Participate in the weekly/monthly cash flow process
  • Supervise the commission process & supervise payments to suppliers (checks, credit cards)
  • Responsible for maintaining the vacation calendar, absence file, 1% training and RVER file
  • Assist team members with the accounting process; including Customer and Supplier Accounts as well as Invoicing
  • Payroll back-up
  • Assist the controller in various administrative and financial tasks, including recording journal entries, month and year ends (audit)
  • Perform other related tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES REQUIRED:

  • College/professional (high school) diploma in accounting.
  • Experience of 3 to 5 years in accounting in small/mid-size companies.
  • Bilingual, spoken and written (English – French).
  • Very good computer skills, including ERP system & Microsoft office (Excel, Word).
  • Must be energetic, resourceful, and proactive.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and a team player.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information
